Erode police arrested 3 persons including the owner of a Tasmac Bar for selling liquor illegally in Erode and seized 1,738 liquor bottles from them. They received a series of complaints about the illegal sale of liquor in Erode. Liquor is being stocked and sold especially after Tasmac shops are closed.
Based on the information that liquor bottles were being hoarded and sold at a higher price in Karungalpalayam KAS Nagar, police led by DSP Pavitra conducted a surprise search and found liquor bottles and seized them. On investigation it was found that a Tasmac bar shop owner was hoarding liquor bottles and selling them. Subsequently, the police arrested 3 persons-bar owner Ganesan (55), bar employee Anbu (31) and godown owner (53). A total of 1,738 liquor bottles were seized from them.
CLOTH BALES STOLEN: Perundurai police have registered a case on the theft of cloth bales worth Rs.25 lakh which were kept in a warehouse near Perundurai. Sureshkumar (46) of Park Road, Erode, is a manager in a private textile company. The head office of the firm is in Gujarat and its warehouse is at Karumandisellipalayam, Perundurai, Erode district. In this case, when the manager Suresh Kumar opened the warehouse on September 30, it was found that 52 bales of cloth worth Rs.25 lakhs kept there were missing. Based on the complaint From him, police registered a case.
