3000 underprivileged women screened for early detection of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the world’s most prevalent cancer.Early detection remains the cornerstone of breast cancer control in order to improve breast cancer outcome and survival. 

The iBreast Exam is an innovative initiative, which is specifically targeted at women and is part of the women-wellness initiatives, carried out by Lifeline Multispeciality Hospitals, Chennai.

Lifeline Multispeciality Hospitals is a Tertiary Care hospital setup at Chennai with over 25 years of experience in delivering high end medical and surgical care to the community, ably guided by its Chairman, Dr. J S Rajkumar, a world-renowned Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon. Dr. Rajarathinam Medical and Educational Foundation, which is the CSR arm of Lifeline Hospitals has been actively involved in providing free medical treatment to hundreds of HIV positive patients and also patients affected by cancer.

This trust, in association with the Dubai Emerald Lions Club, Dubai have been conducting iBreast Screening camps at multiple locations across Chennai. These screening camps have been conducted completely free of cost on all Sundays and we are happy to inform that over the last one year, more than 3000 women from lower socio-economic status have been screened.
