Modakurichi police arrested 36 Congress cadres for staging road roko at Modakurichi on Wednesday in protest against the enforcement directorate's (ED) action of harassing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the name of inquiry in National Herald newspaper case.
I'm their speech, Congress South district unit president Dr Makkal Rajan and former Modakurichi MLA RM Palanisamy said the BJP rule wanted to divert the attention of public from the world wide censure on it for the insinuating speech of BJP leaders against Prophet Muhammad Nabi by raking up ED's inquiry. But, in fact, no FIR was filed in the case and ED has no power to hold inquiry on a non profitable charitable institution-Young India-of the party for which the National Herald was transferred for the loan given by the party for the loss of the newspaper.
They cited the nation wide protest against Agnipath scheme of giving job to youths in defence forces for just 4 years. The scheme showed the BJP rule's apathy in solving unemployment problem in the nation. Now, around 20 crore people were living under below poverty line in the nation.
In fact, the PM Modi has no administrative, economic and social knowledge so that only he brought schemes like Agnipath and farm and citizenship amendment Acts etc, they charged. They said the time would change and Congress would come to power shortly. At that time the omissions and commissions of BJP rule would be set right.
Congress dethrone British from power in the nation by staging many stirs. So, it would not fear to BJP rule's arrogant actions against its leaders and they would remove BJP from power shortly, they added.
