World Achievement Award was given by the Punjab Unique Book of Records for erection of 39 feet idol of Bhairava in Bhairavar temple at Rattaisutripalayam, Avalpoounthurai, in Modakurichi segment, near Erode. Housing Minister S Muthusamy presented the award to the temple founder Sri Vijay Swamigal.
The construction work of the temple is going on and Kumbabhishakam will be held in March. The temple is considered as biggest South Kasi Bhairavar temple and the 39 feet tall Bhairav idol is erected at the front of the temple. This statue was analyzed by the Punjab Book of Records and selected for the World Record Award.
Award for Southern Kasi Bhairava
Accordingly, the world record awarding ceremony was held at the temple yesterday. On behalf of the book, Southern In-charge Rahman attended and presented the World Achievement Award for Southern Kasi Bhairava Temple to Bhairava Peedam Sri Vijay Swamiji. While speaking at the event, Minister S.Muthusamy lauded the swamiji for erecting a statue of Kalabhairava, a largest one in the world.
It is a historic feat. Devotees and public are already flocking to the temple with three months left for the Kumbabhishakam. The temple will attract more devotees and become a major tourism spot, he hoped. Erode Mayor Nagaratnam Subramaniam, Modakurichi MLA Dr CK Saraswathi and many others attended the function.
