50000 Ryots to get Power connection this year: Minister

While one lakh power connections were given in farm sector within 6 months last financial year, 50000 connections will be given this year, the said Agriculture Minister MRK Panneerselvam.
 

He along with Electricity Minister V Senthil Balaji inaugurated Agri Intex 2022 and released the souvenir of the expo at the CODISSIA, Coimbatore on Friday.
 

He said farm machineries, displayed in the expo, is very useful to ryots who face manpower shortage problem. An instrument to operate motor by using the cell phones is 
very useful for ryots especially in nights.

 New agricultural tools, designed by TNAU, are very useful for the public.There are 12,525 panchayats in Tamil Nadu. In the agriculture budget of this year, 1997 panchayats are said to be selected for the Kalaignar's integrated rural agricultural revival programme. 
 

By this way, the necessary steps will
be taken to strengthen agriculture during the next 5 years. 
The new power connections will add 3 to 4 lakh acres in farm sector increasing the food production of the state. 
Minister Mr. V Senthil Balaji said 
when the expo was launched in 2000 150 companies and 25,000 farmers participated. Now, in the present 20th expo, 497 companies participated and 2,00,000 
farmers would benefit. 

The firms would help further growth of farm sector.  
The CM, as per the poll promise, filed a separate budget for agriculture for the first time in 2021 and inaugurated 3 agricultural colleges. 
 

Coimbatore is the district for education, medical, industry, agriculture's growth. District Collector Dr GS Sameeran, Corporation Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar, Municipal Commissioner M.Pratap, TNAU VC Geethalakshmi and many officials attended.
