The Cardiology team at Frontier Lifeline Hospital recently performed an exceptionally rare keyhole procedure to replace the aortic valve in a patient who had previously undergone aortic valve surgery (valve and Valve TAVR). Remarkably, the patient was discharged within two days and even resumed light exercise on a treadmill the following day.
Frontier Lifeline, founded by Dr. K. M. Cherian, has been a leading institution in cardiac surgery and advanced cardiology services for several decades. In fact, they pioneered the first Valve in Valve TAVR procedure in the year 2014.
Senior Cardiologist, Dr.Ajeet Arulkumar said that “TAVR is the preferred procedure for elderly patients with aortic stenosis who are at high risk for open-heart surgery. The hospital specializes in these procedures and has extensive expertise in managing such complex cases."
