Aadhaar number mandatory to get government benefits and subsidies

The Unique Identification Authority (UIDAI) has announced that Aadhaar number is mandatory to avail the benefits and subsidies of both the state and central government. 

The authority had sent a circular to all the government bodies on August 11. Until recently, a person could avail the government subsidies and benefits with any of the government identification cards even if he/she does not have an Aadhaar number. Now, the UIDAI has brought in changes and made aadhaar number mandatory to avail the benefits. 

A person needs to submit an application to get the aadhaar number and get the registration number. 

The person needs to submit the registration number along with one of the government identity cards while applying for government subsidies and benefits. Aadhaar number is mandatory to get government certificates, as well
