Corporation officials rescued a 10-day-old infant who was kept in a shopping bag at a temple in Coimbatore. The baby is being given treatment at the Government Hospital in Coimbatore.
The Rajaganapathi Temple near the Coimbatore Airport. Police and corporation officials were informed that a baby was found in a shopper bag at the temple premises. Following this, Peelamedu police and health inspector Ramakrishnan went to the temple and rescued the child.
Following this, an ambulance was immediately called and the child was taken to the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital. The baby is being treated at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Government Hospital. The police are investigating the issue further with the help of CCTV footage in the area.
