The CEO of Adani Foundation, in the presence of colleagues, panchayat officials and villagers inaugurated the Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant at K R Palayam today.
The village has been getting salty ground water which was difficult and unhealthy to drink. Each family had to pay Rs. 30 to purchase 20 litres of water leading to a monthly expense of Rs. 1000 towards drinking water. The panchayat and local community have for long been requesting for some assistance to address the drinking water issue faced by them. In consideration of the request, Adani Foundation agreed to build the RO plant with a capacity of 1000 liters for the community to provide clean drinking water.
This plant will benefit 450 families in the immediate vicinity as well as the neighboring villages, according to an official communication.
The RO plant will provide clean drinking water for K R Palayam, Neithavoyal Panchayat, Minjur Block and Thirvallur district. It was inaugurated by Mr. Ravi, Chairman, Minjur Panchayat Union in the presence of Dr. Anil Balakrishnan, CSR Head South India, Adani Foundation, Mr.Jesuraj. R, Program Manager, Adani Foundation Kattupalli, Mr.Balan, President Neiythavoyal Panchayat, Mr.Raja, panchayat councillors, ward members and villagers.
