AIADMK Councillors stage walk out

AIADMK councilors in Erode Corporation staged a walk out from the corporation council meeting on Thursday to press allocation of more funds for taking up new road and sewerage works in the Corporation. 

They also demanded withdrawal of hike in house, sewerage tax etc. laying of 80 feet road from Meenakshi Sundaranar road to railway station as per the HC order of Chennai High Court and  flyover from GH to Sathy  Road, and Perundurai Road to Thindal. Mayor Nagarathinam and Deputy Mayor Selvaraj presided.

The civic body adopted 21 resolutions including appointment of additional 100 temporary mosquito control workers with Rs 352 as wage. On the complaint of councillors, Corporation commissioner Sivakumar and health officer Prakash said ''we are currently taking steps to form a committee to sterilize dogs.

Likewise, the sterilization center in Solar is not locked. About 100 dogs are cared for there. Between 6 am and 7 am, volunteers feed the dogs there and then lock them up.''
