AISMK wants to hold poll under the supervision of army

If pananayagam (money power) is abolished all India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) will come to power, said the party president Actor Sarathkumar adding that if the election is held under the supervision of army, it can be held in fair manner. He was reelected unanimously as president and general secretary of the party at the party's 7th state general body meeting held at Erode on Sunday.

In his speech, he wanted propotional representation system for the parties in the election and post poll alliance to ensure good governance. But, now Pananayagam not Jananayagam is existed. Crores of rupees were spent to become MLAs and MPs. In that situation, how can those who want to serve people will enter public life, he asked. So, people themselves should refuse to get cash or kind. Besides, the election should be held under the supervision of army to hold poll in fair manner. The AISMK staged many stirs for cane growers,  Koodankulam Atomic Power Project, Athikadavu-Avinasi, Jallikattu stirs of the party and got success.

 Now the party initiated a movement against drug and liquor addiction which hit the society much and led to fatal accidents. It can be a conspiracy of foreign nations. If the youths became addicted, our $ 2.67 trillion economy, which is 5th in the world, will be destroyed. In fact, liquor has become part of our culture. But, unfortunately, the government didn't hear the voice of defeated parties. The AISMK would continue to oppose the drug and liquor sales, he added.
