Inspector General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Ajay Bharthan took charge as the principal of central training college CRPF in the city on Monday. He joined the CRPF on August 15, 1986 as a directly appointed gazette officer after completing MSc. During his distinguished service he had served in several militancy-affected areas like Punjab, Northeast states, Jammu and Kashmir and Chhattisgarh among others that had been battling naxalism and terrorism. He has also commanded prestigious training institutions of CRPF like central training college in Coimbatore, recruits training college in Avadi, and was instrumental in imparting impeccable quality training to the force.
50th Independence Day medal
It is a matter of immense pride that under his dynamic leadership CTC CRPF Coimbatore was adjudged ‘best training institution’ in 2015. During the course of his career, he has undergone numerous strategic courses in CRPF as well as in other prestigious civil institutions. He is a proud pass out of the 51st batch of officers of the defence services staff college course from DSSC Wellington, Nilgiris. Bharatan is also the proud recipient of internal security medal, 50th Independence Day medal, 75th Independence Day medal besides commendation Discs and certificates five times from DG CRPF.
