AJK College of Arts and Science celebrated International Chef Day on October 18 with a vibrant event called "Dessert Duel," organised by the Department of Catering Science and Hotel Management. The event opened with a speech by Principal Dr. S Raju, highlighting the significance of culinary arts in education.
Chef Mohammed Sameem, Executive Chef of Residency Towers in Coimbatore, was the chief guest. In his address, Chef Sameem shared valuable insights for success, emphasising respect, initiative, and continuous thinking, even during rest.
The highlight of the event was an interdepartmental dessert competition where students prepared delicious treats such as Bread Custard, Carrot Delight, Arabian Pudding, Bread Balls, and Ukkarai. Winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates by Prof. Dr. Ajeet Kumar Lal Mohan, Secretary of AJK College. The event fostered a spirit of creativity, collaboration, and culinary excellence among the students.
