Applications for getting Kalaignar Mahalir Urimai Thogai (KMUT) will be given to 7 lakh 67 thousand 317 family card holders in Erode district, said Collector Rajagopal Sunkara.
A review meeting regarding the program was held at the collectorate under the chairmanship of Erode District Monitoring Officer and Archives Commissioner G.Prakash on Wednesday.
Later, Collector Rajagopal Sunkara told reporters: Camps will be conducted in two phases to select eligible candidates under the scheme. The first phase of the camp will be held from 24th July to 4th August and the second phase camp will be held from 5th to 16th August. From July 20th to 23rd, the application form and token will be distributed to the family card holders by the employees of fair price shops. People can camp bring family card, Aadhaar Card, Electricity Bill Payment Receipt, Bank passbook while coming to the camp. Residents living in rented houses, who are unable to get electricity bill receipts, can fill only the documents and information they have. 2,183 volunteers have been involved in this work. This work will be supervised by 1,130 Village Administrative Officers and Village Assistants.
