Amrita University and ASME organise Tech Fest in Kollam

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Student Section of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri, hosted ASME EFx 2025, a premier technical fest that brought together over 300 participants from across South India. The event featured cutting-edge competitions, workshops, and expert talks, providing a platform for young engineers to showcase their skills.
The fest was inaugurated by Ananthan Ayyasamy, founder of Tenkasi Semiconductors and former senior chip designer at Intel. The event also featured keynote addresses from Dr. Prabhaharan Poornachandran (CEO, CISAI and Innspark), Rajendran Nair (Chairman, ASME Kerala Division), Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar (Dean, School of Engineering), Dr. SN Jyothi (Associate Dean, Amrita School of Engineering), and Swami Vishwanathamritha Chaithanya (Head of Corporate and Industry Relations).
ASME EFx 2025 featured a range of exciting competitions and workshops, including The NEO Circuit, a drone obstacle race, an Elevator Pitch Competition with a $500 prize, and a Flight Forge Workshop on UAV fabrication. Other attractions included a Robo Expo and a Go-Karting Experience, offering hands-on learning opportunities for participants.
The event was organised under the guidance of ASME faculty coordinator Dr. Karthik V Shankar, with leadership from student chairman Dev Krishna Thiyyadi Baiju and vice chairman Karthik G Krishnan. The fest concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Arunkumar S, Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
