Anganwadi staff starts dharna at the Collectorate

Members of TN Anganwadi staff association started 'indefinite waiting stir' at the collectorate to press their charter of demands including declaration of entire May month as summer holiday on par with the school teachers. Heading the stir, the union state vice president Manimalai said dry foods were given for 2 years to the kids and pregnant women during the corona period. So, none could be hit by giving summer holiday which could even help protect kids from summer heat. The other demands are: hike in gratuity to Rs 5 lakh and 10 lakh for cooks and organisers, pension to Rs 5000 and 10000, filling up of all vacancies, hike in food preparation fee from Rs 1.14 and 1.50 per kid to Rs 5, time scale and regularisation of their service etc. TNGEA Secretary Vijayamanoharan, CITU leaders Murugiah, Sriram, Pandiyan and many others spoke.
