A three-day-long international conference on innovative technologies and their applications in higher education was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Annamalai University on Monday.
More than 300 participants took part in the conference that was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor of the varsity RM Kathiresan.
While addressing the gathering, he said, “Application of innovative technologies is inevitable in this information technology era. However, appropriate use of the technologies combined with indigenous knowledge systems is essential to make the education value based and skill embedded.”
While delivering the special address, Hari Raghupathy, engineering manager of Google in the USA said that young minds should train themselves in these areas to make a prospective future.
Prabha Santhanakrishnan, former principal data scientist in Microsoft corporation and CEO, Cookr, offered the keynote address on application of machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts in augmenting innovative technologies for higher education. S Arivudainambi, director of IQAC, S Ramesh Kumar, deputy director of IQAC, coordinators and organizing secretaries had made arrangements for the conference.
