Former electricity minister and AIADMK state organising secretary P. Thangamani has accused present electricity minister Senthil Balaji of "creating artificial power shortage with an intention to buy electricity at a higher price from private parties".
Addressing the May Day public meeting of the party held at Tiruchengode yesterday, he said "During the past one year the DMK rule has borrowed Rs 1.98 lakh crore. The NEET came into force on the basis of the SC judgment. But, DMK made false promises to abolish it and came to power. He said that former CM Edappadi Palanisamy has political will to take action on erring partymen including brother of O Pannerselvam. But, as against the direction of DMK, many DMK men defeated official candidates in the local body poll.
But, the DMK chief did not have guts to remove them from his party. During the past one year, 750 murders took place in the state indicating poor condition of law and order in the state. DMK gave over 500 poll promises but it didn't fulfil any of them. It deceived the people and got votes in the local body elections by saying all women would be given Rs 1000 every month. So, people are waiting for the election. The AIADMK will win all upcoming elections,'' he added.
