Avinashilingam Institute organises US Education Fair for its students

The Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women recently organised a US Education Fair on Tuesday aimed at providing exclusive opportunities for its students. Delegates from 17 prominent U.S. universities visited the institute to encourage international academic collaboration, promoting research, designing twinning programs, and exploring potential ties in academic and research endeavours.
Mr. Scott Hartman, Cultural Affairs Officer from the US Consulate in Chennai, highlighted the objectives of the fair, stressing the importance of enhancing women's representation in academia and equipping them with crucial technological and entrepreneurial skills.
The fair, held at the university's auditorium, welcomed over 2500 final year undergraduate and postgraduate students who visited seventeen stalls, each representing a participating university. 
This exposure provided students with insights into higher education opportunities in the United States.
Notable attendees included Chancellor Dr. T. S. K. Meenakshisundaram, Vice Chancellor Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Registrar Dr. S. Kowsalya, Assistant Managing Trustee Dr. Gowri Ramakrishnan, Deans, Directors of Research Centers, Heads of Departments, and members of the organising committee. 
The event showcased the institute's commitment to empowering women through global educational opportunities.
