Bengaluru boy bags gold at Republic Day camp

Revisiting a tale of triumph against all odds, Bhargav H C, a talented artist hailing from a humble background in Bengaluru, etched his name in the annals of glory by clinching the Gold Medal at the prestigious Republic Day Camp (RDC). The event, a pinnacle in the National Cadet Corps (NCC), witnessed Bhargav's meteoric rise from a diligent cadet to a celebrated figure in the realms of music and theatre in NCC in the past decade.
Bhargav embarked on his journey with the RDC in 2019, navigating through the arduous Inter Battalion Competition (IBC) and Pre-Inter Group Competition (pre-IGC) which lasted for about two months. Fueled by determination and music skills, Bhargav emerged as the "best all-rounder," securing a spot as the lead singer for the Karnataka and Goa Directorate team.
His prowess in vocal and composing skills paved the way for his entry into the final team heading to the Nationals. Under the mentorship of Col. Iyyappa, Bhargav not only composed the theme song, 'Nav Bharath', but also fine-tuned every musical nuance, from arrangements to harmonies, from instrumentation to choir set up, making it a piece of exceptional quality.
Bhargav's composition, 'Nav Bharath', caught the attention of the Defence Minister, Mr. Rajnath Singh, who termed it a 'moti' or pearl. Bhargav's triumph did not end there; his composition reached the ears of the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. The accolades continued as the Governor of Goa announced a prize money of Rs two lakh for the group song of the Karnataka and Goa Directorate.
