BJP leader condemns Ponnaiyan

BJP state treasurer SR Sekar dubbed AIADMK former minister and organizing secretary
C Ponnaiyan's comments against BJP was an irresponsible one and presumed that he got irritation over the growth of BJP in the state. Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said though AIADMK has more MLAs and main opposition party in the Assembly, BJP alone was acting as main opposition party outside Assembly.

The BJP has  strongly opposed DMK rule by citing the omissions and commissions of it.  If  Ponnnaiyan is serious about DMK  his speech should be focussed against DMK only.
But unfortunately he criticised BJP creating a suspicion that whether he wanted to join DMK. ''I feel his views are personal and the AIADMK leaders EPS and OPS were not behind it''.

He said BJP state president Annamalai would not only release corruption of 2 ministers within 2 or 3 days but also reveal the corruption of 21 ministers subsequently.
Denying state finance minster Palanivel Thyagarajan's stand that the state was reimbursing just 35 percent of tax collected from the state,  he said in fact the percentage was hiked from 31 to 40 percent.

Under the 14th finance commission Rs 5. 4 lakh crore was granted to the state which is nearly 4.5 times more than the fund given  under the 13th finance commission. But the DMK leaders misinform that the Centre was doing nothing to the state.
He also poo poohed the DMK stand of that the tax collected from the state was spent in UP and Bihar etc. He said in the state, more tax income was netted by the state government in Coimbatore district and asked whether the government spent whole income in that district only. The Centre was taking steps for overall growth of the nation.
He also denied the charge that unemployment problem was growing in BJP rule. In fact, many start up companies came up during the BJP rule alone due to its policies  giving job opportunity to many.

Besides, loans under Mudhra scheme were given, more training programmes, placement camps  were held. He said the State was earning Rs 19600 cr as VAT from petrol and diesel. The BJP ruled states reduced the excise duty on the fuel. But DMK rule refused to do so as  done in other states. It, however, allotted
Rs 2500 cr for creating 4 parks without reducing fuel price as promised in its manifesto.
In the 8 year rule of BJP, the forex reserve, per capita income, food production was doubled,  export touched an highest Rs 40 lakh crore, 9 cr free LPG connections were given, 10 cr house hold toilets were constructed,  crores of houses were built under PM Awas Yojana, reservation benefits ensured to BCs in Kashmir following cancellation of Article 370, no corruption charge was levelled against anyone in the BJP rule, 130 cr doses of corona vaccine were distributed free of cost,  digital money transaction attained major growth, people living BPL were reduced from 22 to 10 percent, our medicos were safely brought from Ukraine, 2nd position in road development  was achieved in the world etc.

So,  the achievements of BJP rule was much high. But, DMK  and other parties tried to hid the facts, he charged.Party functionaries Senthilkumar, Kalaivani Vijayakumar, lawyer Eswaramoorthi, Devanandam,  Annathurai and A.J.  Saravanan were present.
