A 45-feet-high BJP flagpole was erected in front of BJP leader Annamalai's house in Kanathur area under Tambaram Corporation without prior permission, obstructing the public and dangerously close to high-voltage power lines.
Also, the corporation officials and the police went to remove the flagpole which had been erected without permission from the Chennai Corporation. At that time, under the leadership of BJP Vice President KaruNagarajan, around 110 people participated in a dharna chanting slogans against the government. They were constantly arguing with the government officials without listening to the police warning them several times. As a result, the police arrested them, registered a case and later released them on bail.
At the same time, a case was registered against the persons who damaged the public property by hurling stones at the earth mover brought by the Corporation officials to remove the flagpole and breaking the glass. The flagpole was later removed.
This is normal in politics. The police hasremoved the flag pole that was put up without permission. Is this wrong? A flagpole can be planted in another place after obtaining permission. What is there to explore? A four-member team formed by the BJP at the national level will come to Tamil Nadu on the 27th to investigate that too.
Will the group investigate impartially? Undoubtedly the report of the committee will be that the DMK government is working against the BJP. Tamil Nadu Minister for Dairy Development, Mano Thangaraj has raised a question to the BJP National Team.
``Would the BJP committee take a list of the notorious raiders who have recently joined the BJP in criminal activities;analyze their criminal background and submit a report in the People's Forum?'' was the question, the minister posed.
Will Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai answer this question? Will the party’s National President J.P Nadda answer?
State President Annamalai is indulging in a provocative act of disturbing the peace through Vaishavadal. All the parties including the AIADMK have accused Annamalai of being the one who runs the party by blowing up all the petty problems as a half-wit in politics. This is why the AIADMK & BJP alliance broke.
Political commentators predict that the formation of the committee by the party's national president J.P Nadda, which is supposed to stop activities like the flagpole issue, is a threat.
Politics should have some generosity. J.P. Nadda sending a survey team for this petty matter will not help BJP grow in Tamil Nadu, say political observers.
