An EB staff T.G.Vivek, 36, met with an accident near KKP Matriculation School Muthumangalam on August 26. He is survived by wife Mrs.Vinothini, 31 and daughter Aarathana Sri, 3, wete living at Muthur, Tirupur District. He was taken to nearby private hospital for first aid and then to KMCH, Coimbatore, for treatment. During the treatment, he didn't respond much and declared brain dead on Aug 28.The family stood clueless and his wife came forward generously to donate his organs.
Multi Organ Transplant Surgeons and team harvested Heart, Kidneys, Eyes, Skin and Bone from the body of the deceased in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Transplant Authority, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
The harvested organs i.e. Heart was sent to a private hospital at Chennai, One Kidney was transplanted at KMCH, One Kidney, Eyes, Skin and Bone were sent to a private hospital at Coimbatore.
The family members get proud that his organs gave new lease of lives to 7 needy people. In honouring their gesture, Dr. Nalla G Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH thanked the family for their bold and timely decision on organ donation. He added that this act of generosity will bring in more awareness towards this nobel cause.
