Bus service to Villages curtailed: KAS

MLA and former minister K. A. Sengottaiyan said that the bus services to villages has been reduced leading to overcrowd in buses. A demonstration was held on Tuesday on behalf of AIADMK's Anna Thozhirsanga Peravai against the shortfalls in the 14th wage pact negotiation of transport workers in front of TNSTC depot at Sathyamangalam. 

He said while the free bus travel scheme for women was implemented in the DMK regime, the number of buses running from urban areas to rural areas were reduced. During the AIADMK regime, vacancies were filled in the TNSTC. 

But, no action was taken now. Currently, the DMK rule has said that only 5 percent wage hike will be provided and thus followed anti-worker policy, he charged. Following this, the workers raised slogans emphasizing their demands. Former Minister KC Karupanan, Bhavanisagar MLA Pannari, Perundurai MLA Jayakumar and many others participated in the stir.
