Buses will be operated from the new double deck bus stand soon:Salem Corporation Commissioner

The Salem Corporation has converted the old bus stand into a double deck bus station with modern facilities under the Smart City project and it was inaugurated by the Chief Minister on June 11. 
Even as the public are eager to know when the buses will be operated from this bus station, a coordination committee meeting was held yesterday by Corporation Commissioner C.Balachander regarding the operation of buses from double storied bus stand as soon as possible. 
Corporation officials, police officers, traffic department, private bus owners association executives participated in this.
In this meeting discussions went around streamlining of town buses, private buses and buses to be operated from the lower deck and the upper deck for various routes and bringing the bus station to public use soon. 
It was emphasized that the arrangements should be passenger friendly facilitating easy access. 
Corporation Commissioner Balachander said that the works to be carried out at the bus stand should be completed on a war-time. 
Buses should be operated from the bus station soon for public use, he said.
