The last lunar eclipse of the year is set to begin on Tuesday afternoon and would last for 20 minutes in Chennai, according to experts. Lunar eclipse takes place when the Sunlight was prevented from falling on the moon by the earth after the three form a straight line.
When the moon was completely hidden, full lunar eclipse would take place and the moon was partially hidden, a partial lunar eclipse would happen. Scientists suggest that people could see the eclipse with naked eyes.
According to experts, the eclipse would begin around 2:39 pm, form a full eclipse at 3.46 pm and end around 5:12 pm. In Chennai, experts have said that full lunar eclipse would take place during the moon rise followed by a partial eclipse.
It would last for 40 minutes. The next full lunar eclipse would take place after three years and a partial lunar eclipse would take place on October 28 next year, they said.
