CM announces new agri development plans

Inaugurates Rs 227 crore integrated agriculture development scheme
Aiming at top three places in India in crop production and crop productivity, targets have been fixed and seven long term plans have been conceived for the welfare of the farmers said Chief Minister M.K Stalin.
Inaugurating the Kalaingar All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Scheme through virtual mode, the Chief Minister said that three schemes will be implemented including  bringing an additional 11 lakh hectare under cultivation.Rs 227 crore has been allocated for the scheme from which 9 lakh farmers from 1997 villages will be benefited.

The  Kalaingar All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Scheme envisages integrated development of all villages leading to self sufficiency through the joint efforts of all government departments.
The Chief Minister further said that it has been planned to increase the two season cropping to 20 lakh hectares. 

Informing that the Mettur Dam will be opened for Cauvery delta irrigation on May 24 for kuruvai crop cultivation, he said that by introducing a separate budget for agriculture the DMK has made farmers feel proud.
Following the virtual launch the Chief Minister issued orders for establishing deep bore wells for members of the Farmer's Association for fallow land improvement and he also gave away incentive for productivity for horticultural crops, for cultivation of fruit and timber trees on hedges, coconut tree saplings, 
100 percent subsidy for digging wells and installing motorized pump sets and micro irrigation for Adhidravidar community farmers. He also gave orders for agri clinic.
