Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday flagged off Rs 70 crore worth of mobile health services at the Chennai Marina under the Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam Project.
The Government of Tamil Nadu is implementing various new initiatives from the public health sector to bring the medical infrastructure in Tamil Nadu to the grassroots. As a continuation of this, Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched a mobile healthcare service under the scheme.
It has been informed that this project is to be implemented in all parts of Tamil Nadu such as hill villages, remote villages and small hamlets by taking ambulances directly to the places of residence and treating the people living there.
It is said to have planned to set up temporary camps in rotation in all areas including hill villages. In the first phase of the project, vehicles with 389 treatment facilities have been designed at a cost of Rs. 70 crore.The ambulance will reportedly have a doctor, a nurse, a health assistant and a driver.
The mobile hospital features high blood pressure, diabetes testing and other essential medical services.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Health Minister Ma Subramanian, Ministers Ponmudi and Sekar Babu, Health Secretary Radhakrishnan, Chennai Corporation Mayor Priya and Deputy Mayor Mahesh Kumar.
