Collector honours winners of district level sports competition

The district collector Kranthikumar Pati on Thursday honoured the winners of district level sports competition that were organized as a part of Chief Minister’s trophy at the premises of Hindusthan college in the city. The city police commissioner V Balakrishnan and the college secretary also honoured the winners.
The district level Silambam competition was held on February 15 and 16 at SNS college premises in the city.
 

Abimanyu, a student of Mani higher secondary school, who has been trained by Silambalaya training school has secured two gold medals under different categories, while Mithreshram, a student of Carmel Garden school, secured a silver medal. Nikilesh, a student of Stanes school, and Akshatha, a student of National model school, bagged bronze medals, while Mary Priyadharshini, a student of Krishnammal school, bagged a silver medal.
Mridhula, a student of Ramakrishna arts and science college, bagged three gold medals and a silver medal under different categories, while Arun Pandian bagged two gold medals and two silver medals in general category and Saran Raj bagged three gold medals and two silver medals.
Silambalaya’s senior trainer Selvakumar, trainer Ranjith Kumar and others appreciated the winners.
