Collector inaugurates book fair at Erode

Erode Collector Rajagopal Sunkara inaugurated the 19th Erode Book Festival jointly organized by the Tamil Nadu Government and  Makkal Sithanai Peravai at Erode CN College campus on Friday evening. Peravai President Stalin Gunasekaran, Mayor Nagaratnam Subramaniam, Deputy Mayor Selvaraj, Nandha College President V Shanmugan, National Welfare Awareness Movement President SKM Mylanandam and many others participated in the event. There are 230 stalls at the fair which runs till August 15. There are millions of books available for sale. No entry fee for public. 10% price discount is given for books. There are programs like giving book enthusiasts certificates, small savings hundial  for students to buy books,   separate arangam for the books of foreign Tamil authors, new book release function, daily evening discourses by Tamil scholars etc. The public can visit the exhibition from 11 am to 9:30 pm. Free buses are arranged for school students to visit the expo.
