Collector inspects Flood Relief Camp at Bhavani

Collector  H.Krishnanunni inspected mock rescue operation of people in the Cauvery River at Bhavani on Thursday. It was organized by Tamil Nadu Disaster Management Authority and National Disaster Management Authority. 

Due to southwest monsoon, more than 1,50,000 cubic feet of excess water has been coming from Mettur dam for the last four days in the River.  So, all the people on the banks of Cauvery river in  Bhavani, Kodumudi and Erode taluks have been sheltered in safe places. 

They have been provided food items, medical, and electricity facilities. So far, 1056 persons belonging to 343 families have been safely sheltered in the camps in the district.  Earlier, he visited a relief camp at Kandan Pattarai  in Bhavani
