Collector Rajagopal Sunkara distributing prizes to the winners of the Erode district level sports meet for CM's Trophy at a function held at the Malligai Arangam, Erode on Tuesday. He said the synthetic track erection work at the Erode VOC Ground was going on at a cost of Rs 7.27 cr for the benefit of athletes and the work would be completed within 6 months. Erode district girls sports hostel in VOC ground has 160 students and government allotted Rs 48 lakh for its renovation. The government gymnastics centre at Gobi got Rs 1 cr for construction of a hostel. DSO Sathishkumar, deputy mayor Selvaraj and many officials attended the function.
