The district collector GS Sameeran on Wednesday released the draft electoral roll in front of representatives from political parties at his office in the city.
Speaking to reporters, the collector said that the district has 30,14,972 voters – 14,82,079 men, 15,32,354 women and 539 other gender voters.
He said, people who would complete 18 years of age by January 1, 2023, those whose names are found missing in the list, those who want to change their name or address and those who want to remove a name from the list could submit the application forms.
The application forms would be distributed on all the working days between Monday and Friday till December 8 at polling stations, Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs’) offices and taluk offices in the district from 10am to 5pm.
Announcing that they would be conducting special camps to link Aadhar cards with voters’ ids till January, he said that about 40% of the voters have linked the ids in the district.
Form 6 to add new names in the electoral roll, Form 7 to remove names, Form 8 to change address and name and Form 8-A to change of address would be issued at the special camps. Voters who are moving from a constituency to another have to submit Form 6 to add their names in their new constituency.
The voters could also upload their forms through www.nvsp.in or on voters’ helpline app.
