Collector requests Voters to link Aadhaar No with Voter ID card

District Collector Krishnan Unni requested people to come forward to link Aadhaar number with Voter ID card. In this regard, an all party meeting was held at the Collector's office in which Collector said 
It is not compulsory to link the No. But it can be linked at their request. So, the party administrators should create awareness among the people. 


The confidentiality of Aadhaar-related information would be protected. The Election Commission of India has started the process of linking the Aadhaar number with the voter ID card from August 1. 


It planned to complete the process by 31.3.2023.  In order to ensure that the voter list is 100% correct and to avoid one voter's details appearing in two different places in the same constituency or in different constituencies, the work was started.


The electors who wish to link aadhaar no with voters list  can submit Form 6b to the Polling Officers appointed for their polling station. Polling station officials directly go to their homes and obtain Form 6b to link Voter ID with Aadhaar Card. 

Voters can directly link their Aadhaar number with Voter ID through NVSP Portal and voter Helpline Mobile App through Voter's e-Seva Center and People's Seva Center by submitting form 6b.


Special Camps for Linking Aadhaar Number with Voter ID Card will be held as per the instructions of Chief Electoral Officer Chennai and Principal Secretary to Govt on 4.9.2022.


Voters who do not have Aadhaar Card can submit any of the following 11 types of proof approved by the Election Commission:  MGNREGS ID Card, Bank Post Account Pass Book, Medical Insurance Card issued by Labor Welfare Department, Driving License, PAN Card, IF Card issued by Registrar General of India as per National Population Register, Indian Passport,  Photo attached Pension Documents, ID Card with Photo issued by Central State Government 


Public Sector Undertakings, Parliamentary Assembly Legislative Council ID Card, ID Card issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Skill Development, Government of India. 

Voters' Aadhaar details are protected by the concerned Electoral Registration Officer as per the Election Commission of India guidelines. 


All voters in Erode district can provide Aadhaar number to link with Voter ID. We request people to support the work of 100% purification of voter list in 8 assembly constituencies in Erode district by linking the aadhar no with voter card before 1.4.2023 and make Erode district a pioneer district, he said.
