Collector reviews progress of FPCs

Collector SP Amrit reviewed the progress of farmer-producer companies (FPC) in the Nilgiri District under the Central Government's scheme by holding a  meeting for farmer-producer companies. 
It was arranged by the Department of Agricultural Sales and Agri Business department to evaluate the progress of the 9 FPCs in the District.

Provided financial assistance

The government has provided financial assistance of Rs.1.65 crores to these companies since their inception. Each FPC received a grant of Rs.5.00 lakh as start-up funding,  along with training programs for skill development, technical management, and value-added product manufacturing. The training program aimed to improve the business capabilities of the companies.

The meeting was attended by the Joint Director of the Horticulture Department Mr Karuppasamy, Agricultural Engineering Department Executive Engineer Mr Radhakrishnan, Deputy Director of the Agriculture Sales and Agribusiness Department Mr Krishnamurthy, Deputy Director Mrs Shipilameri, Professor at the Horticulture Research Institute Mrs Thamaraichelvi attended.
