Collector's meeting on Periyanaickenpalayam Bridge Work

A coordination meeting of all departments was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of the Collector Dr.G.S.Sameeran in order to accelerate the flyover work being carried out by the National Highway Department in Periyanaickenpalayam area. 

The meeting was attended by DRO PS Leela Alex, National Highways, Divisional Engineer Ramesh, Assistant Divisional Engineer Muralikumar, Revenue Divisional Officer (North) Buma, TWAD, TNEB,  BSNL.

 Corporation, revenue department officials and police officials were present.  In this meeting, the Collector said a  flyover is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.115.24 crores.


This bridge is being constructed at a length of 1850 m. The four-lane flyover to be constructed on National Highway No.67 starts at Ramakrishna Polytechnic College and ends at LMW Junction, Periyanaickenpalayam  Junction and Vannancovil Junction. 

The bridge will reduce traffic congestion at three junctions. Vehicles going Coimbatore - Mettupalayam can easily travel. 60 percent of the bridge work has been compketed.

 Also, Rs 41.88 crore bridge work under the Central Road Fund Scheme from km 352/320 - 352/990 in GN Mills junction area was going on at the NH 67. It will start at Don Basco Church and end at G.N. Mills Junction, Coimbatore. 


This bridge will reduce the traffic congestion at GN Mills junction. He asked officials to complete both the bridge works speedily.
