Cong Lawyers wing condemns ED for harassing Rahul Gandhi

Erode District Congress Lawyers Wing condemned enforcement directorate (ED) for harassing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the name of inquiry for many days in the National Herald case without even filing FIR. It indicated the political background behind the issue as he has alone boldly exposed many omissions and commissions of the BJP rule, it said. 

In the consultation meeting, held here on Friday, the wing state general secretary CM Rajendran delivered special address. Senior Advocate OMR Palanivel, wing district president ERS Prakash, and Senior Advocate P Ponnappan presided over the function.
The meeting thanked the CM MK Stalin and Erode East MLA Thirumagan Evara for hiking the aid under the advocate welfare fund from Rs. 7 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs, sought new police stations at Solar,  Thindal, Nasiyanur and traffic police station at Thindal and Solar,   police commissionerate for Erode which was  upgraded into Corporation in 2011,  a government law college  at Erode, due medical care and protection to a minor girl who was forced to donate ovum, and necessary action on the fertility centres which were collecting sperms from college students illegally by holding an inquiry of police and medical departments.

The meeting condemned the Federal Government's Agnipath project, which has shattered the dreams of the youth in getting permanent job and affected their formal higher education. So, it demanded immediate action to withdraw the project. 

The Supreme Court has condemned the BJP's spokesperson Nubul Sharma's insulting remarks against Prophet Muhammad Nabi which even led to the murder of a tailor in Udaipur, and ordered her to express open apology to the people of the nation. 
The meeting wanted her to oblige to SC dictate immediately. Lawyers Vinod Mariappa,  Vijay Anand, Saminathan, Pari, Chitra, Arjun, Ashok, Karthi and many others were also present.
