Protesting against the release of 6 convicts in Rajiv Gandhi assassin case, Congress members in Erode wore black shirts and paid homage to the portrait of Rajiv Gandhi on Saturday near party office at Erode. More than 30 years have passed since the assassination of Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The Supreme Court ordered the release of 6 people who were in jail on Friday. In order to register their opposition to this liberation, Erode South District Congress Party cadres led by its president G Makal Rajan, wore black shirts and black bands and paid tribute to Rajiv Gandhi portrait by sprinkling flowers. Also, the party paid a silent tribute to the 14 people who died along with Rajiv Gandhi.
