Consecration held in 300 Temples

Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment Department Minister  Shekhar Babu said that consecration was held for 300 temples for the past one year, which is highest in the history of the HR and CE Department. He visited Erode Kottai Eswaran temple where kumbabishekam was held on Thursday. 

He said he visited the temple and also Salem Sugavaneswarar and Kottai Mariammam temples last year to gear up the consecration works. Now, the consecration was held for the first 2 temples and it would be held for 3rd temple by March. Kudamuzku has been conducted in the Thiruvatar temple, which has not been done for many years. Officials were told to hold Kudamuzhukku for all temples which was held 12 years back. 

The Chief Minister  has ordered Tamil mode Archanai in all the temples. 60 percent of the Archanai ticket fee has been ordered to be given to the arsakas. The lands belonging to the temples worth Rs 2000 crore have been recovered during DMK rule. A report in this regard will be tabled in the assembly during budget session, he added.
