Court remands Siva Shankar Baba until Apr 27

Siva Shankar Baba has been remanded in custody till the 27th of this month. The order was issued by the Chengalpattu Court in the first and second POCSO cases in which he has been booked.  It is noteworthy that the order was issued after the Supreme Court granted conditional bail to Sivashankar Baba.

The seer has been arrested in many POCSO cases for sexually abusing minor girls studying in the school run by him in Chennai. In June 2021, multiple FIRs in the case of sexual harassment and abuse of students at the Sushil Hari International School was registered against Siva Shankar Baba, and the case was transferred to CB-CID. Later the same month, he was arrested in Delhi.
