Dancers file petition in the guise of Anna and Karunanidhi

Dancers disguised as former chief ministers  Anna and Karunanidhi have filed a petition at the Collectorate demanding proper dance performances at temples in Coimbatore.

Dancers from Coimbatore came to the Coimbatore District Collector's Office. They disguised themselves as Anna and Karunanidhi and filed a petition in the Collector's Office.

The Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Film and Stage Dancers Association has over 8,000 members. We have been suffering severely for the past one year due to the corona impact.

At present, dance and other cultural performances are conducted in temples all over Tamil Nadu with the permission of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

But permission to hold a dance performance in Coimbatore is denied. The festival season lasts for about 6 months only. Therefore, permission should be given to stage dance performances at temple festivals in Coimbatore as well.” Thus they said.
