A consultation meeting on preventive measures against dengue fever was held today at the collector's office premises, with Collector Brindadevi presiding over the session.
During the meeting, Collector Brindadevi highlighted the importance of public involvement in preventing the breeding of dengue mosquitoes, which thrive in clean water. "Every citizen should ensure that water does not accumulate around their homes to prevent the breeding of dengue mosquitoes," the collector stated.
In addition to public awareness, the district administration is organizing fever camps as needed. These camps provide fever treatment, medication, awareness programs, and Nilavembu drinking water to the public. The district has also stockpiled necessary medicines and tablets to bolster immunity, particularly for children, the elderly, and pregnant women who are more susceptible to infections.
Furthermore, over 1,200 personnel have been deployed across the district for dengue mosquito eradication efforts, including fumigation and disinfectant spraying.
The meeting underscored the collaborative effort required to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and the crucial role of community participation in maintaining a healthy environment.
