Digitized registration services to enhance transparency and convenience

Digitized registration services to enhance transparency and convenience

In order to enhance public, administrative convenience and transparency, the Tamil Nadu government has shifted services related to property deeds registration online. Also across India, government services are gradually being rendered online.
In Tamilnadu, since 2018, software is being used to perform many tasks like accessing property transfer details, time allotment of deed registration, issuance of animal certificate. Currently the software has been upgraded to a fully digitized version. Property buyers do not need to visit the Registrar's office to view the 159-year bonds but can access them online.

It is generally said that there is no dearth of bribery in the registration sector due to the high flow of money. To put an end to such accusations, the Tamil Nadu government is introducing procedures for doing such services online. The task of getting services of all departments online should be improved.

Once the upgraded software, “Star 3.0” is fully operational, there is no doubt that we can expect many more dramatic changes in the deed registration.
