Dist Collector asks girl students to empower themselves with education

Coimbatore District Collector  Dr.G.S.Sameeran has called upon women to empower themselves with education and said only women can lead a compassionate life without any compromise.

Addressing the gathering at the Thanksgiving Day Celebration and Handing Over Ceremony organised by Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women here, he recalled about the women who had inspired him and said all these women had taken education and career as their weapon and marriage could not stop them from achieving their goals. They have made him unlearn things in life.

He advised the students to make use of the vibrant campus and value-based education and explore the world by empowering themselves. The ceremony is organised every year to commemorate undergraduate and postgraduate students for their academic excellence. Proficiency prizes were given to the toppers in each course. 

Sri Avinashilingam Institutions Assistant Managing Trustee Gowri Ramakrishnan said the students should possess qualities such as integrity of character, persistent hard work, determination, simplicity of thought and sense of social responsibility. 

The office bearers of the student council for the academic year 2021-2022 handed over the responsibilities to the new member for the academic year 2022-2023. Vice Chancellor Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Dean Dr.S.Uma Maheswari and all other faculty members participated in the occasion.
