DMK alone protects Arunthathiyars' interest fully

DMK rule alone protected the  interests of Arunthathiyars fully by giving 3 percent exclusive quota for them in the SC quota, said PWD Minister EV Velu.  Addressing at the DMK SC welfare committee meeting here on Monday, he said MGR acted in Maduraiveeran (Arunthathiyar) film so that 85 percent of Arunthathiyars voted for him till 2016. After the DMK offered 3 percent  quota for arunthathiyars, educated youth of the community started voting for DMK en masse.

Kalaignar allotted the DMK deputy district secretary posts from Ottanchathram to Dharmapuri to Arunthathiyars only. In fact, Andhiyur Selvaraj and Madhivendan, (Arunthathiyars), were given top posts in the party and ministry. Around 27000 arunthathiyars   were in Erode East segment. So, cadres should ensure their votes for DMK front fully, he pleaded. Muthuswamy said the 3 percent quota helped over 1200 to become doctors and 4000 as engineers since 2016. 

The CM fulfilled the long felt demand of SCs by erecting Ambedkar's statue at Erode and by allowing a memorial for freedom fighter Pollan (Arunthathiyar) near Modakurichi.Ministers Raghupathy, Dr Madhivendan, CV Ganesan, KN Nehru, DM Anbarasu, Nasar, Meyyanathan,  Thangam Thennarasu and committee secretary Krishnasamy spoke.
