DMK didn't do anything for the growth of Erode district: KAS

DMK didn't do anything for the growth of Erode district, said former minister and Gobi MLA KA Sengottaiyan.
Introducting the AIADMK candidate for Erode East bypoll KS Thennarasu at a meeting arranged by the Olirum Erode Foundation here on Monday, he said that only during the MGR, Jayalalithaa and EPS rules, all development works were carried out in Erode district. 

The district was created by MGR only.  But DMK rule didn't enforce any scheme for the development of Erode.  When Muthusamy was in ADMK, he brought many schemes. But, now, he is in DMK. So,  he was not able to do anything for the development of Erode. People can approach Thennarasu at any time to solve their problems. So,  he appealed to people to support him.

Former Minister P Thangamani: People should teach a lesson to ruling DMK in the bypoll or otherwise, it will think that all blunders of it is accepted by them.  ADMK rule carried out Rs 484 cr Uratchikottai water project for Erode without hiking property, water taxes etc.  We hiked power tariff meagrely in 2012 only because of huge loss created by previous DMK rule in TNEB. During ADMK rule (2001-06) 13500 mw power was produced as against the need of 9000 mw.  The surplus was given to karnataka. 

Power production came down much

But in DMK rule power production came down much (2006-11) and 18 hours of power cut was existed.  
At that time, industrial activities were crippled. In 2011, after Jayalalithaa came to power, the state again power surplus one helping rapid industrial growth. Now, only due to the election and resistance of people and industrialists, the Power Minister Senthilbalaji assured to hike free power to powerlooms and handlooms after hiking the power tariff steeply and as against the election code of conduct. 

He also annonced hike in power tariff by 6 percent every year, which could not be seen in anywhere in the nation.  If the opposition candidate EVKS Elangovan won, people could not see him as he was staying at Chennai. But, ADMK candidate Thennarasu could be seen at anytime as he already did many development schemes for Erode. Former ministers Mafa Pandiyarajan,  KV Ramalingam,  candidate KS Thennarasu, TMC leaders also presend.
