DMK organisation poll begins

DMK organization poll for wards in town panchayats, municipalities and corporation areas began in the district on Friday. 
The party election returning officers of the District -law wing secretary Surya Vetrikondan and weavers wing secretary Nanniyur
Rajendran-
received nominations forms from the aspiring candidates for the posts of ward secretary, 3 DEPUTY  secretaries, president, 1 treasurer,  5 representative in each ward. Of 3 joint secretaries, one each reserved for woman and SC. 

In the south and district units, the nominations were received in over 20 places and the returning officers visited the places and collected them. 
The process would continue on Saturday also. So many collected the nomination forms today and were expected to submit it tomorrow. 

The election for the DMK branches in village panchayats  comprising 25 members in each branch was held last week and the secretaries and other functionaries for the block, town, municipal, zone and corporation level units will be held after 10 days. 

Most of the posts will be filled up through consensus basis only so no voting will be held,  partymen said. Party maanagaram district secretary M Subramaniam, treasurer PP Palaniswamy, Modakurichi block secretary Gunasekaran and other functionaries were present.
