Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya assumes as Director (Finance) of NLC

Dr. Prasanna Kumar Acharya assumed charge as Director (Finance) of NLC India Limited today on Jan 15 at Chennai.
A seasoned professional with nearly three decades of rich experience with leading Indian companies across sectors, he has held key positions in GRIDCO, NTPC and Tata Power before taking over as Director (Finance) at Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) in June 2022. 
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Honors) from Utkal University, Odisha, and a Bachelor's in Law (LLB) from MS Law College, Cuttack, Odisha. 
He further pursued a Master's in Commerce from Ravenshaw University, Odisha, and obtained a Master's in Business Administration (MBA). 
Dr. Acharya is also a Fellow member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. 
His educational journey culminated with a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D) from Utkal University, Odisha. 
He has also participated in a Management Development Programme (Strategic Finance) from IIM, 
Lucknow.
Dr. Acharya has successfully closed financial deals, securing loans totaling thirty-five thousand crores with Multilateral Banks such as JICA, ADB, NDB, and AIIB. Notably, he played a crucial role in the Phase-II Project of CMRL, which had a substantial worth of over sixty-three thousand Crores. 
He hails from Kendrapara, Odisha, and on the personal front, he is supported by his wife, who is a Housewife, and their two children, both of whom are pursuing their studies, according to Executive Director / PR NLC India Ltd.
