Drinking water facility sought in Erode central bus stand

Thamizhaga Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam  District president  Selvaraj has requested for a drinking water facility at the Erode Central Bus Stand. Erode Central Bus Stand is being modernized at an estimated cost of Rs 40 crore.  So the existing drinking water connections have been disconnected during the current severe summer season.  Therefore, drinking water facilities should be provided at the bus stand to assist the public. Existing overhead tanks  can be filled with drinking water. Currently there is only one place where drinking water facility is available and used by traders.  The Government has initiated the construction of two new Suburban Bus Stands at solar and Ganiravutharkulam. He said the construction of a high-level bridge from Bull Fight junction  to SP office, GH to Central Bus Stand at Mettur road, Pallipalayam to Karungalpalayam, Kalingarayan House to Thindal to ease traffic congestion in the town which would greatly help the public.

Request for separate reservation for Devendrakula Vellalar: Selvaraj has demanded separate reservation for Devendrakula Vellalar community  to improve the most backward people of the community who were in SC list to come up in education and employment. He said the previous AIADMK government has ordered  unity of the seven subdivisions of the community and issue the caste certificate in the common name of Devendrakula Vellalar instead of giving certificates in the name of 7 sub castes within the SC list. The Vellalars (farmers community) should be given separate recognition  because they  are engaged in agriculture by taking out from the SC list.

For this we have appealed to Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister MK Stalin's Opposition Leader Edappadi Palanisamy and the Central Government.  So,  the the state government should pass a bill in the Assembly to provide separate quota for the people of Devendrakula Vellalar.  The Union Home Minister Amithsha helped us to get Devendrakula Vellalar status. So,  once the state passed a bill,  the Centre would also pass an Act in the parliament to give separate quota for them,  he hoped.
