Ensure implementation of all schemes by 2023: CM Stalin to officials

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Thursday directed officials to complete implementation of all the schemes by 2023. Stalin chaired a meeting with officials from the special projects implementation department at the secretariat in the city.

At the meeting, he said, “We have been implementing several schemes in the past 20 months. I take this opportunity to thank everyone who played a major role in planning and implementing the schemes. Government is not just about the Chief Minister. It also includes ministers, officials and staff and in a good governance, everyone should work together. I am happy to know that we are one of the good administrators and this gives me satisfaction. But we need to work to strengthen it and the meeting is organized to work towards it.”

Pointing out that the state has deteriorated in the last ten years, Stalin said that his government is aimed not just at overcoming the deterioration but also at ensuring growth. We are travelling towards our aim and one could vouch for it just by seeing the nature of the schemes that are implemented in the last 20 months, he said, adding that the real victory is not in announcing these schemes but in implementing them successfully.  “By announcing free buses for women passengers, the government has earned the respect and wishes of lakhs of women. Several families are congratulating the government for implementing a nutritious breakfast scheme.

Thousands of families were benefited through the government's health at doorstep scheme and farmers were benefited through free electricity scheme. These are all our visible happiness.  If only the government could implement all the schemes successfully, the happiness would multi-fold and it is in the hands of the officials,” he said.He requested the officials to put their entire efforts to implement the schemes to their fullest and to discuss with their subordinates and counterparts to sort out issues if they are any. He asked them to conduct inter and intra department meetings to identify and resolve the issues as they would be held responsible for the schemes that were implemented on behalf of their departments.

He also directed the officials to conduct periodical meetings to review the status of the schemes.Pointing out his announcement about construction of a library in the name of former chief minister M Karunanidhi in Madurai and a hospital at Guindy in Chennai, he said that the building construction has almost neared completion and it would be inaugurated anytime soon.“Before the end of 2023, we will have to implement all the schemes and we should start the works to ensure it immediately. If there are any issues including financial issues, it should be resolved immediately. You should understand that a project could be implemented successfully only with constant review,” he added.
